What is a habit that you’ve deliberately built for yourself and why?
What is a habit you’d like to drop? Like right now.
How long does it take for you to adopt a habit?
Changing habits must be a game for me. All the data and positive feedback don’t change me; I must see the process as a game.
For example, I wanted to learn to brush my teeth every day and get some type of exercise — however small. Knowing myself, I grabbed a stack of poker chips, which I placed inside the medicine cabinet conveniently behind the mirror of my bathroom sink.
Each night, if I successfully brush my teeth, I stack a chip. If I exercise, I stack another chip in another pile. This shockingly simple game allowed me to both brush my teeth and get a bit of exercise for 200 days straight.
Then I got bored.
Need a new game.
