The name of the person who helped you the most and why.
A small habit that you’ve built that pays incredible dividends.
Your favorite interview question and why.
Welcome to Week #2 of Rands Writing Prompts. Here is prior week if you missed it.
These prompts are designed to be a kickstart for your writing process. A gentle mental nudge. Here are other (5) other gentle nudges I use to get my writing process on my digital device started:
A tidy desk. An absolutely clear physical desktop. If the desktop isn’t tidy, the act of cleaning it can do the trick.
Removal of all distractions. I use two displays, and the writing one is empty except for the window I am staring at right now.
An appropriate writing playlist. Much more on this in a future update.
Your favorite writing tool. This might be the most important bullet on this list. Your writing application is an extension of you. Again, more on this later.
A drink. This one is weird. I write better when I have a glass of anything next to my keyboard. Works like this. I am writing, I am writing well, I am still writing, wait, I’m losing it… losing it… SIP. OK, I am writing.
The tip about having a drink to break the flow of not writing is super fascinating, I will need to give that a try. I mostly use my drinks to help create a bigger pause in conversation and give a chance for silence to weigh in. But for writing? Hmmm very interesting, thanks for sharing!
Just don't let Casey Liss near your drink and keyboard 😜
